The Bay of Kotor

Nestled along Montenegro’s Adriatic coastline, the Bay of Kotor is a breathtaking destination that captivates visitors with its dramatic landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Surrounded by towering mountains and dotted with charming medieval towns, the bay is often referred to as Europe’s southernmost fjord, although it is technically a ria, a submerged river valley. This UNESCO-listed region is a paradise for history lovers, nature enthusiasts, and travellers seeking a unique blend of coastal beauty and historic charm.

The Bay of Kotor is home to several picturesque towns, each with its own distinct character. Kotor, the bay’s most famous town, boasts well-preserved medieval architecture, cobbled streets, and an impressive fortress offering panoramic views. Perast, with its elegant Venetian-style buildings, is known for its two iconic islets, Our Lady of the Rocks and Saint George, both steeped in legend. Further along the bay, Herceg Novi welcomes visitors with its lush botanical gardens and vibrant seaside promenades, while Tivat combines modern luxury with traditional Montenegrin charm.

The Charter

Destination Unknown is available for charter for the first two weeks of May, 2026. You may book Destination Unknown for just one week or the entire two weeks if there is availability, depending on prior bookings.

This one-of-a-kind, exclusive experience is normally only enjoyed by those who own their own yacht. Destination Unknown has a full-time, highly-experienced sailing instructor/professional captain. No matter your sailing level, experience or appetite for involvement in operating the vessel, you will have a safe and enjoyable time aboard Destination Unknown.

You have the option and opportunity to fully participate in all aspects of sailing and managing the yacht, treating it as part holiday/part learning experience or just sitting back and experiencing crusing the Bay of Kotor at a leisurely pace in the hands of an able captain.
